We use AI to help you find relevant positions faster and to help labs review applicants — as a recommendation tool, never an automated decision-maker. This page explains what it does, what data it uses, and the safeguards around it. For data handling, see our data privacy notice.
In two optional places:
If you don't use these features, no AI processing happens.
We use large language models from Anthropic (Claude) via their API. We do not build or train our own models on your data.
Only the relevant text is sent, and only at the moment the feature is used.
No. Under Anthropic's API terms, the data we send is used only to generate your result and is not used to train their models. We do not sell or repurpose it.
No. AI output is a recommendation only. A person always reviews and decides. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing (Art. 22 GDPR), and employers using SciFind are told the ranking recommends — it never shortlists or rejects anyone automatically. This human-in-the-loop, transparent approach is consistent with the EU AI Act's expectations for AI used in recruitment.
When you open your matches, your profile and CV are compared against open positions and returned as a ranked list with a fit score and a one-line reason for each — so you can see why something was suggested. You stay in control: it's a shortcut for browsing, not a gatekeeper.
A recruiter can state what matters for a role and re-rank applicants by fit, narrowing iteratively. The AI only orders and explains candidates — it never moves, shortlists, or rejects anyone. Every pipeline decision is made by the recruiter, and each re-rank is logged.
Yes. Browsing, search, saved jobs, deadline reminders and free keyword alerts all work without AI. AI matching is optional — simply don't upload a CV or use the match features and no AI processing occurs.
No. Like any model it can be wrong, miss context, or rank imperfectly. Treat its output as a helpful starting point, not a verdict — and tell us at thescifind@gmail.com if something looks off.
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data and withdraw consent at any time — see the data privacy notice for the full list and how to exercise it. For anything AI-related, contact thescifind@gmail.com.
