The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology ISIT is one of Europe's most modern research facilities for microelectronics and microsystems technology. The institute's centerpiece consists of clean room facilities for the development and manufacturing of microchips on an industrial scale. Approximately 190 scientists at ISIT develop components for power electronics and microsystems technology in close collaboration with industry partners.
