Student Assistant (f/m/non-binary) – For Hybrid Coating Processes (Laser Cladding & Thermal Spraying)

Our Profile Our Profile Our Profile Laser Cladding (Laser Metal Deposition / LMD) is a precise, additive surface engineering process in which a powdered feedstock material is fed directly into a melt pool generated by a laser beam on the component surface. In contrast to mechanically bonded coatings, this creates a metallurgically bonded connection that can withstand extreme loads. By precisely controlling the energy input, high-quality functional layers can be produced with minimal thermal influence on the component and a low degree of dilution. In the "NiCuClad" project, this technology is…

Student Assistant (f/m/d) – High-Performance Coatings for E-Mobility

Our Profile Our Profile Our Profile Novel coating materials are being developed at the IOT, among other things for thermal spraying and surfacing welding. Thermal spraying is a universally applicable surface coating process in which a coating material, usually in powder or wire form, is propelled onto a component surface with high thermal and/or kinetic energy, where it forms a coating. With a variety of available process variants, a broad spectrum of materials such as metals and ceramics, but also…
